Guitar No. 2 - The Body
Like for my first guitar I made all the kerfed linnings by hand. |
I soaked the sides in the bathtub in hot water for about 15 minutes. |
The workbench prepared for bending the sides. My "bending iron" is a piece of an old steel tube that is heated by a propane gas flame. |
The hardest part (the cutaway) is already done without any cracks! |
The side, drying in the mold. |
The gluing of the headblock. |
Gluing of the linnings piece by piece. |
The sides with all linnings glued. |
I glued the bottom to the sides inside the mold. |
The bottom glued to the sides, part I. |
The bottom glued to the sides, part II. |
Gluing the top to the sides. |
The closed body. |
Everything is prepared to glue the bindings. |
The cutaway was the most challanging part glueing on the bindings. |
The completed body with all bindings. |
